OVER THE years there have been countless reports from staff and shoppers at Castlegate Shopping Centre of paranormal activity.
Several ghosts have been seen, heard and felt and strange music and sounds have been noted during the middle of the night from security.
Castlegate stands on the grounds of a Norman Castle belonging to the Prince-Bishops of Durham dating from the 12th century. It is made up from two buildings, Walker House, the shopping centre which is currently in use and the abandoned Stephenson House.
For the first time ever, management are allowing access to those brave enough to enter, in aid of the charity One Great Day. Guests will be able to visit after hours and take a guided tour of the disused areas, which some staff are too scared to enter.
Tickets cost from £12.50 and all money raised will go to One Great Day supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital and Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
