BE A good egg this Easter and donate an Easter egg!
This Easter, we are asking the local community to donate an Easter Egg for our appeal. The eggs will all be donated to an eggcellent cause – ‘Daisy Chain’ whose aim is to create a haven for families affected by Autism.
There is a large donation box outside B&M where shoppers can donate a chocolate egg, or two!
The donation box will be in place until 1st April and the donations will be taken to the team at Daisy Chain on Good Friday, this coincides with World Autism Awareness Week.
It will be the first time that many children have been able to visit Daisy Chain in almost a year and the aim is to welcome them back with the gifts donated for the appeal.
“Daisy Chain supports over 3,000 families across the Tees Valley and, after an incredibly hard 12 months due to covid-19, we’re delighted to be opening the doors back up to enable families to once again access our facilities.” said Tracey Wright, Fundraising Manager.
“The Easter Appeal is perfectly timed with the eggs arriving in World Autism Awareness Week, meaning we can spread some eggstra joy to the young people who rely on our services and support.
“The generosity of the local community is always overwhelming to see, and we know that the young people at Daisy Chain will be delighted to receive their egg!” added Tracey.
World Autism Awareness week is a global campaign to raise awareness and acceptance of autism, the team at Daisy Chain are striving to improve the lives of families affected by autism in the Tees Valley and surrounding.
Marketing Manager, Chantal Taylor said “Based on how generous the Stockton community is, we have set ourselves the target of collecting 300 chocolate eggs to donate to Daisy Chain.
“We know that our shoppers love to help local charities so we are confident that we will be able to reach our goal. We will be eggtremely grateful for all donations. ”
Easter eggs should only be dropped off when visiting the centre for essential shopping, special visits to drop off donations are not encouraged. There is hand sanitizer at the donation box for people to use after they make their donation.
