WE ARE are calling on all local residents to help us Patch Stockton Together.
Castlegate and Wellington Square are asking members of the community to create pieces for a patchwork quilt with an aim to collect 250 quilt pieces.
The pieces will then be combined to not only create a piece that represents Stockton but also includes the people of Stockton in the making of it.
Chantal Taylor, Marketing & Communications Manager, said: “As the heart of the community, we want to help bring people together during lockdown.
“We’re looking to engage with members of the community who have pride of place and asking them to create patches that represent themselves and their area.”
Kath Hardy, from Much Ado About Muffins, who is leading the project can’t wait to see people’s creativity come to life. She said:
“During these difficult times we want to help give people a means of self-expression and a way to contribute when they otherwise have limited ability to participate in community life.
“We know the people of Stockton are very creative and we look forward to seeing everyone’s work. Whether it’s the Infinity Bridge or afternoon tea, we want to see anything positive that puts a smile on your face.”
Please share your creations with us on social media @CGSCStockton and keep them safe until restrictions are lifted. We will then piece the quilt together and donate to a local charity.
For everyone who submits a patch you’ll receive a box of chocolates and be entered into a competition to win a £100 gift card as a thank you.
We look forward to seeing your creations and helping to patch Stockton together!
