A SWEET initiative at Castlegate has seen shoppers raise over £1300 from a Candy & Toy Cart to support Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
Clearhill, who specialise in retail entertainment products supplied a Candy & Toy Cart full of pocket money items starting from 50p.
In a year, a total of £1387 has been donated to Teesside Philanthropic Foundation with all funds supporting local community charities and causes.
Karen Eve, Castlegate Centre Manager said: “Our contribution to the community is very important to us as a local business. We pledge £5000 each year to support our centre charity and we are always looking at new ways to raise money.
“I decided it would be nice if children spending their pocket money could support other children in the region and we are especially grateful to our customers for their amazing generosity.”
Commenting on the work being delivered by Castlegate, Danny Evans Commercial Manager at Clearhill said: “We’re both delighted and humbled that our product can help make a real difference for such a worthy cause”.
Mandy Shields of Teesside Philanthropic Foundation added: “This was a magnificent effort by our patrons Castlegate and their generous shoppers. Every penny they’ve raised will stay right here on Teesside, helping the most disadvantaged people and most deserving causes.”
