If you’re going vegan for January (Veganuary) but stuck on what you can exactly eat then check out our fav vegan foods here at Castlegate…
Vegetable Pakoras & Samosas
If you’re after a quick snack and love a bit of spice then visit Brodie’s Street Food Kitchen in Spencer Market and try out their delish vegan-friendly pakoras and samosas.
Packed full of delish veggies, their sweet potato and onion pakoras are to die for! Give them a like on Facebook for their daily menus and give them a message before you pop down as they often sell out.
No Bull Burgers
Touted as the ultimate meat substitute, the No Bull Burger from Icleand has been designed to mimic the taste, smell and texture of meat.
Made from soya protein and coloured with beetroot extract and paprika, they have been designed to look like the real deal (and they even ‘bleed’ while cooking, don’t worry it’s just beetroot juice) – pop it in between a bun and you’ll soon be thinking you’re at a BBQ (minus the sunny weather of course.)
Vegan Sausage Roll
Yes you’ve seen it on all the news outlets and of course Piers Morgan has had a go, it’s the Vegan Sausage Roll from Greggs!
Following a strong consumer demand, including a petition by PETA last year, which was signed by more than 20,000 people it has been designed to mirror some of the sausage roll’s classic features. This includes 96 layers of light and crisp puff pastry but instead they wrap it around their own bespoke Quorn filling.
Let us know if you have tried any of these vegan goodies…
