WE WERE delighted to deliver over 200 gifts to Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation just before Christmas thanks to our tenants, staff and customers sharing their sparkle.
A big pat on the back to all our kind-hearted donators who dropped off items including toys, hats, biscuits, toiletries and much more at Santa’s Grotto.
Such was the generous response of public, including Iceland and Chiltern Mills who donated a whole host of goods, that we were able to make up over 50 goodie bags and boxes chock-full of surprises which were handed out to kinship families across Teesside so grandparents and children were able to enjoy a boost to their quality of life this Christmas.
These families are often struggling when grandparents step in to avoid children being taken into the care system when their parents are unable to take responsibility, often due to alcohol abuse or addiction.
Andy Preston, chairman and founder of Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, said: “Castlegate Shopping Centre has been a generous supporter of the Foundation for several years and we’re grateful for all the support Stockton shoppers continue to give our charity.
“In keeping with our promise to them, every penny stayed right here on Teesside to bring a little festive cheer into the lives of the most disadvantaged families and children.”
